Chocolate Pecan Pie

Here it is, my dad’s most requested pie recipe.
Serve with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.

1 9 ” unbaked pie shell 1/2 cup sugar
2 tablespoons butter or margarine 3/4 cup light corn syrup
2 ounces unsweetened chocolate 3/4 cup pecan pieces
3 eggs 1 teaspoon vanilla

Prepare pastry shell, chill. Melt butter & chocolate in sauce pan over low heat. Pour into medium bowl. Cool slightly. Add eggs, sugar and corn syrup. Beat with rotary beater until well blended. Stir in vanilla and pecans. Pour mixture into unbaked pie shell. (I decorate top with extra pecans halves) Bake on lower shelf of moderate oven. 375 degrees for 40 minutes. Cool thoroughly on wire rack before slicing.

Top with vanilla ice cream or whip cream.
