This is my Mom Sandy’s recipe.
Always a big favorite on Christmas Eve at my Grandmothers
2 | tablespoons cocoa | 2 | cups vanilla wafer cookies, finely crushed | |
1 | cup confectioners’ sugar | 1 | cup finely chopped walnuts | |
1/4 | cup rum | 2 | tablespoons confectioners’ sugar | |
2 1/2 | tablespoons light corn syrup | confectioners sprinkles |
Mix cocoa and 1 cup confectioners sugar. Add remaining ingredients in order given. Roll into 1″ balls. Roll in 2 tbs sugar. Also roll in ground nuts, sprinkles, confectioners sugar and coconut. Allow to stand uncovered over night. Then Store in airtight container. Can also be frozen and thawed out a few at a time.
**note: 1 box (12oz) Vanilla wafers and 1 bag (10oz) walnuts makes a double recipe
